About Us

LifeCare EMS Training Academy was founded in 2002 by the de la Porte family. Since then the Academy has grown and developed into a strong educational facility. As a private school we are able to give each student a very personal experience. Please have a look around our website and feel free to call us to schedule an appointment to tour the facility and meet our staff!

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide students with quality pre-hospital and continuing education. This will be accomplished by giving students the resources they need to not only be prepared for the workforce, but also to be able to exceed the standard of patient care. We commit to using knowledgeable and experienced instructors who bring more than just books to the class.

Trauma Day at Grafton Fire

example1

In an effort to increase the depth of their academic and practical experience, LifeCare Training Academy recently held a collaborative learning effort with Grafton Fire.

Set up by Lead Paramedic Instructor Mark Dailey, different scenarios are set up by volunteers at Grafton Twp Fire to mimic situations that the medics may come across in the field.  The students attend to their 'patients' with as much realism as they can.  University Medivac gets in on the act by arriving on scene to transport critical patients to the Trauma Center in Cleveland.  The medic students really look forward to this exercise, as it gives them a real hands-on experience to try out their new skills.

EMT-Basic Trauma Field Day

example1

During each EMT-Basic and Paramedic class we hold trauma and medical field days for our students. This is a unique experience where students go on-site to local fire departments and run scenarios. The day ends with a critical call where students get a change to take their scenario patient up in a University Hospital MedEvac helicopter.
